No fun... No shoe shopping at lunch time on line... No ordering Chinese because I was REALLY craving Szechuan Chicken.... There was one small and brief dalliance with kayak.com as I began contemplating a trip home for the holidays..... But as I said, it was brief.... And yes, I hit close before I purchased anything.
BTW, the craving for the Chinese food was so strong, that I actually googled how to make Szechuan Chicken.... It was far to complicated, so instead, I made a packet of Ramen Noodle soup, and added some very hot hot sauce, that I believe is actually called "Devi's Blood". I bought it at our local farmer's market, which I used to be able to go to... you know, just wander about the place, breathing in the quaint and charming atmosphere.... Smelling the soy candles, looking at the new local art, and buying, oh say a gluten-free muffin..... Listening to the musician in the park (sidebar, who is never better than me)... It seems like a distant memory, now. Am I being too mellow-dramatic? But truth be told, this is exactly how I feel right now, at this very moment. Like I have been cut off from something, some feeling, something that made me feel good. As if I am being punished. You know what would make me feel better? Just a tiny peak at overstock.com.... or net-a-portor.com, for just a quick sec??
I just hope that I don't turn from this bad habit to a worse one... For example, do I hear those Entenmann's donuts calling my name from the kitchen? No, I think I will be ok, and do not need to take on any other addictions in it's place. I will try to play more tennis or something. Maybe I should literally take a walk when the urge strikes me. But no, I might not get too much work done.... I wouldn't want my work to suffer...
Well, I did make it. I can say that my friends have been amazingly supportive, and are recommending things that I can do rather than spend money. I am going to try these in upcoming weeks, so that should be an interesting study!
That's it for today. Another day, another dollar not spent... :-)
Have a great day! Thank you!!
